Polygon Labs has extended its Open Money Stack payment infrastructure to Solana.
This integration offers businesses on the Solana network a singular connection for bank funding, embedded wallets, cross-chain transfers, and worldwide payouts. Kira, a cross-border firm, is noted as one of the initial adopters.
The Open Money Stack, described as a collection of stablecoin payment tools, aims to simplify the complexity of using multiple providers for crypto payments.
Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder and CEO of the Polygon Foundation, stated, "Every bank and fintech that wants to use crypto faces the same problem: connecting them to the accounts and payment systems its customers already use."
This expansion enables Solana businesses to link bank, card, cash, and crypto funding pathways, establish embedded wallets, and route/convert funds across networks including Polygon, Ethereum, and Tron.
Kira, a remittance provider, exemplifies this use case, able to take dollars from a sender, move USDC on Solana, and facilitate a bank payout to the recipient.
This move aligns with Solana's increasing prominence as a payment venue, having handled over $5 trillion in stablecoin volume this year, according to the Solana Foundation.
The integration complements Polygon's broader payments strategy, which includes the acquisition of the crypto-cash firm Coinme.
The adoption reflects a trend where institutional participants seek to bridge existing fiat financial systems with decentralized ledger technology for commerce.
