BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) reported that its staked ether has increased to 5,227,037 tokens.

This marks a change from the previous level of 5,067,309 tokens, which had been reported in every weekly filing since August 9.

The entity announced on Monday that it repurchased 2.04 million of its own shares the prior week. This was the first reported share repurchase since mid-August, executed at an average price of $22.48 per share.

This latest action brings the 2026 buyback total to 22.9 million shares, acquired for $399.6 million at an average cost of $17.48. Chairman Tom Lee previously stated in an October 7 video message that the earlier buyback program concluded on August 17.

Lee commented that, "When management believes Bitmine shares are relatively undervalued, the Company intends to accretively repurchase shares, subject to market conditions and under the existing repurchase authorization." These repurchase plans are now detailed in the release's note on forward-looking statements, whereas last week's note lacked this item.

Regarding staking, BitMine stated that the amount of ETH staked as of October 25 was 5,227,037. This amount remained frozen at 5,067,309 for nearly three months. The company utilizes MAVAN, its Made in America Validator Network, and external partners for staking.

Lee projected that the annualized staking revenue from the current ether holdings amounts to $318 million. If the treasury were fully staked, the projected earnings would reach $368 million based on a 2.58% seven-day yield.

The treasury itself grew by 10,452 ETH over the past week, reaching a total of 6,051,933 tokens. This recent accumulation was smaller than the 12,535 ETH added the week before, and it represented the smallest addition since the week leading up to August 16. BitMine currently holds 4.95% of the 122.2 million ETH supply, falling short of its 5% objective.

Lee suggested that the decline in crypto assets is due to the same risk-off forces impacting AI stocks. He observed that ether has dropped 13% from its recent peak, while US semiconductor stocks, tracked by SOXX, are down 20% over the comparable period. Despite this, Lee affirmed, "We believe this is further evidence that a crypto bull market is underway."

Market participants should note that BitMine valued its ether at $2,356 per token, using Coinbase pricing. At this valuation, the combined value of its crypto, cash, and equity stakes equals $15 billion. Cash and marketable securities decreased to $514 million, marking the fifth consecutive weekly decline from $714 million on September 20, as ETH purchases have persisted for almost eighteen months.

This operational activity by the institution reflects a strategic commitment to asset accumulation and treasury management within the decentralized finance ecosystem, indicating confidence in the underlying protocol dynamics.

Why it matters

These actions indicate significant capital deployment by BitMine into both its own equity and staked assets within the Ethereum ecosystem. Investors should monitor how this aggressive accumulation strategy interacts with broader DeFi and L2 market dynamics. The company's staking revenue projections provide insight into the current yield environment for large ETH holders.
