Binance Alerts Users: Ethereum Deposits Paused and Major Delistings Ahead
On October 28, Binance will conduct wallet maintenance concerning the Ethereum (ETH) network.
During this maintenance, the platform will temporarily halt deposits and withdrawals pertaining to that blockchain. The procedure is anticipated to require approximately one hour before operations resume.
The exchange has assured that trading for tokens on the network will remain unaffected, promising to manage all technical requirements for participants. The notice stated, "Deposits and withdrawals for token(s) on the aforementioned network will be reopened once the upgraded network is deemed to be stable."
Furthermore, on October 30, Binance announced the removal of specific trading pairs that fail to meet established criteria. This includes twelve spot trading pairs: AAVE/BTC, ATOM/BTC, CAKE/BTC, DASH/BTC, ETC/BTC, ICP/BTC, PENDLE/BTC, RENDER/BTC, TAO/BTC, THETA/BTC, XAUT/BTC, and XTZ/BTC.
Ten margin trading pairs are also slated for delisting on the same date. These pairs are RE/USD1, 币安人生/U, KAT/U, BTC/USDS, ETH/USDS, AVNT/U, FET/U, TRUMP/U, APT/U, and WLFI/U.
The entity clarified that removing a spot trading pair does not impact the availability of those tokens on Binance Spot. Users retain the ability to trade the base and quote assets of the affected pairs using other available trading pairs on Binance.
These announced removals have not instigated substantial price shifts among the relevant digital assets. This lack of significant movement is unsurprising, as more pronounced market reactions usually follow when Binance ceases all services for a specific digital asset, such as when Epic Chain (EPIC) and QuickSwap (QUICK) were removed earlier this month.
This operational activity underscores the ongoing necessity for centralized exchanges to periodically audit and enforce technical standards across their listed assets and network integrations.
